SHU Law’s Commitment to Pro Bono Legal Services

Today marks the end of pro bono week but does not mark the end of our commitment to provide pro bono legal services to those most in need.

At SHU Law our commitment to the pro bono agenda is stronger than ever. Our successes to date have seen us recover thousands of pounds in compensation for our clients in cases that would otherwise have been abandoned simply because the clients couldn’t afford to pursue their right to access justice. We have been fortunate enough that along the way we have introduced our students to the concept of providing pro bono legal advice and representation and encouraged them to really think about the ways in which they might want to carry this commitment through their careers. We hope that what we are doing will inspire the next generation of lawyers to commit to this legacy.

As a law firm we have had to adapt to meet the needs of our clients in these very challenging and ever changing times. However, we have still been able to operate the business as usual, meeting the needs of both our clients and our students. All of our services can be delivered on line using various forms of technology and different applications such as Microsoft Teams and whilst it’s not quite the same as having as many face to face meetings we are still confident that we are providing the highest standards of client care and legal advice on a not for profit basis.

We want to advance the services that we can offer to be able to help more vulnerable clients and also to enhance and widen the learning opportunities for our clients. If you would like more information about the services that we can offer and for which we do not charge for the work of our solicitors then please contact a member of the team on 0114225666 or email enquiries@shulaw.co.uk.
