Later this month, the SHU Law solicitors will be assisting the SHU academic team in recruiting students for the Law in Practice module.
During their Law in Practice Module, students complete an external placement at a law firm or other suitable business in South Yorkshire. During their placement, they will be exposed to suitable legal training as part of their studies.
The selection event is rigorous and designed to give the students a taste of how recruitment works in the real world and comprises of team work, interviews and in tray exercises so that all students can showcase a whole range of their skills. The process is used to assess whether you’re suitable for a place on the course and a chance for you to showcase your knowledge on the subject and enthusiasm for a career in the legal profession.
SHU is very lucky to be supported by the local legal community in offering such placements and the feedback that is received each year from both students and placement providers is always very positive. SHU Law has been working with local law firms to advance these opportunities through its collaborate to innovate approach.
If you are a law firm that wants to get involved then please get in touch – 0114 226 5555 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a student attending the selection event then good luck and just enjoy the experience!
