We are delighted to announce that we are now a member of LawWorks, enabling us to provide pro-bono legal advice and address the unmet legal need in the local community.
LawWorks is a charity working in England and Wales, that connects people in need of legal advice with the skills and expertise of lawyers willing to meet those needs for free. The project currently supports a network of over 230 clinics across England and Wales, with SHU Law being one of only four clinics in Sheffield. People in need of free legal advice, can search the LawWorks database based on the area of law and their location.
In 2017, 238 not-for-profit cases were supported on by member firms and in-house teams, with 40,000 clients given legal advice in the LawWorks clinic network between April 2017 and March 2018.
As a LawWorks clinic, we can provide free initial legal advice on either a drop-in or appointment basis. That means you can either pop into our office at 51-53 Broomgrove Road, Sheffield or call us on 0114 225 6666 to make an appointment. At your first appointment, you can tell us about your legal issue and we’ll give you some basic advice and the next steps to take.
Don’t forget, our advice is free!
