SHU Law Circle welcomes new members.

SHU Law is keen to listen to the student voice, and as such developed ‘The Circle’ to ensure it captures the ideas of students and places their voice at the heart of the firm.

During the launch of SHU Law earlier this year, student volunteers assisted with business development activities of the firm and contributed their views to ensure we were representing what they were expecting from a regulated law firm.

Several of the initial student participants have now graduated and entered the world of work, meaning that we’ve recruited some enthusiastic new members to take us forward into 2020.

In addition to replacing graduate members, we have also expanded the team more generally, recognising the value of what they have to offer and boosting our business development initiatives.

Currently ‘The Circle’ are looking ahead to 2020 and planning several exciting events and activities to promote SHU Law to both prospective students and clients alike.

New members: Shawn Perrie, Ellise Todd, Grace Normoyle, Hannah Steele, Isabella Glass, Sofia Sajid

Founding members: Nagina Shazhidi, Dom Cook, Dermot Jagger, Ryan Minion, Anna Baldassare

The founding members led the recruitment of the new members and designed a selection event aimed at promoting equality of opportunity. Students were not picked because of their academic ability but were instead asked to make a brief written submission about what they thought they could contribute. They also attended a selection event, where they were split into groups, completed tasks and prepared and presented a short presentation.
